Danny Grant has cooked since he was 14. He believes in hard-earned craft and thoughtful delivery. Twice given two Michelin stars for RIA, he also received perfect four-star reviews from the Chicago Tribune and Chicago magazine. He was named to the 2012 class of Food & Wine's Best New Chefs.

A Long Island native, Grant began cooking in Arizona and hit his stride in Chicago when he began cooking for Chef Bruce Sherman at North Pond. He worked his way up to chef de cuisine before departing for NoMi, cooking abroad in Paris and attending pastry school to round out his skills. He opened RIA and Balsan in 2009.
